| MarkSpits (formerly known as mc2 of SAGE) was born in the Land O'Lakes in the late seventies. His clan migrated to Texas, the Lone Star State, when he was a youth. After his parents divorced, Spits and his mother lived in various neighborhoods around Arlington & Fort Worth. He attended Gunn Jr. High and Martin High School before enrolling to the University of North Texas for his higher education. Here in Denton he met super-producer BOZ a.k.a. Blakkhrist of 360 Degreez Aborigineez, & the rest is history. Around the turn of the millenium, Spits & his "brother-from-another-mother" phatB, formed the hiphop group SAGE. Their first release 5BUCK$(2003) featured mc2 & phatB, as well as, 360 Degreez Aborigineez and Professor Daley. This five-track EP led SAGE to appearances on local hiphop radio shows like 89.3's "Knowledge Drop't Lessons Taught" hosted by E-Z Eddie D, as well as, interviews by local publications like Venues Magazine. 5BUCK$ is still available in select music retail stores in Dallas/Fort Worth & Austin, TX and Minneapolis, MN. It is also available for purchase here on MarkSpits.com. Made In USA is their 2nd release as a group (scheduled for 9/11/07). This hiphop-politcal album again features SAGE & Blakkhrist of 360 Degreez Aborigineez along with some tracks by indie producer Malcom Kipe (Merck Records).
